This week's topic:
You're packing for a month on a deserted island. What, as a reader and writer, must be in your backpack?
Because this says as a reader and writer, I'm going to skip the basics (food, water, etc) and assume they are being provided. Cheating? Yes. More fun? Totally.
- I'm gonna need a laptop with a solar powered battery (They make those, right?)
- One of those cell phone wifi hubs
- My Nook
- My debit card (to pay for whatever I buy online)
- A nice, thick notebook
- A fresh pack of pens
- Post-it notes
- Sunglasses
- A big blanket to lay on
Yep, I'm set.
What would you bring?

I can't believe I forgot Post-It notes. I live by these. In fact, I have like 5 of them stuck on my desk now. :)
I brought most of those things too. I didn't bring my credit card. CRAP I will need that for On-line ordering.
I also forgot my sunglasses.
Nice list.
Solar powered battery!! Brilliant idea.
Dude. How did I forget to mention blanket? I'm totally going to be the one getting bit all over by sandflies.
And LOL to preparing for online shopping while on the island. Props, lady. Props.
A solar-powered laptop battery! I love it!
Woah. You've got it covered. For realz. I kind of brought those things (sans blanket to lay on) when I was in the Arctic living in a tent on sea ice for a month... But my laptop froze. And my pens. Did you know that could happen? I didn't -- though I guess it makes sense.
I would bring pencils (#2, mais oui), paper, and my husband (best cheerleader ever).
Post-its! Love it! Of course, they might get a bit sandy. Then again, everything world ;)
I forgot a blanket too. Which for some reason makes me realize I also neglected to pack coffee. This could be disastrous.
