Road Trip Wednesday

This week's topic on the YAHighway is:

If you could live in the story world of one book, what would it be? (any genre!)

I'm willing to bet this will be a popular answer.  I'm totally going with Harry Potter.  I mean, magic!  Hogwarts!  UNICORNS!!

JK Rowling's world is one that we have all lived in through books for many years, and gosh, to experience in person?!  AFREAKINGMAZING!!

The downside may be if I had to be there during the time of Voldemort.  Let's face it, he kinda sucked all around.  And of course I'd have to jet back to being eleven years old so that I could go to Hogwarts.  Because what's the fun of living in Harry Potter world if you can't experience Hogwarts first hand?!

Yes, yes.  This is all a great plan.  So, when do we leave?

Nearly everyone is picking Harry Potter. Myself included. Awesome. I forgot about the unicorns.

I'd have to pick Narnia. Talking lions? I'm all over that!

Nice choice... It's definitely in my top 3.

Other fantastic worlds I'd love to be in are Pern (from Anne McCaffrey -- old school books) and Dinotopia.

See you at Hogwarts! ;)

I threw Hogwarts in too (though I picked more than one)...and I'm sure thousands of amusement-park goers are right there with us since we now can kind of "go" to HP world.

When I read the Anne of Green Gables series as a kid, I dreamed of living on Prince Edward Island. Still do. Google images of the place and you'll see how beautiful it is.

I'd go back to being 11 again for a chance to attend Hogwarts.

I'm ashamed, I've never read Harry Potter yet, either. *hangs head* I'll definitely try to play catch-up, though, this summer. :)

I knew you were going to pick Harry Potter. Actually, I'm not surprised that it's a popular pick. I wouldn't be mad if I got thrust there at 11 either.

I mean, was there ever any other choice?! People want to live in Hogwarts so badly they made a theme park. And you've been there! I will get there ASAP too. YAY Harry Potter!

I booked a few thestrals, we're set to leave tomorrow. (:

Glenna, ooooh thestrals! Excellent choice!

Sarah, definitely get there ASAP. It's awesome.

Alicia, lol of *course* I picked HP!

Pam & Quita, I expect a firm date by which you will both have read at least one of the books. ;)

Kate, heck yeah!

Heather, I used to love Anne of Green Gables too. :)

Sorry for the short, delayed responses today, guys. Being sick at home with a 3yo doesn't lend itself to productivity. ;)

I picked Harry Potter too. How can you not? Quidditch. Hagrid. The Weasleys. *sigh* I could go on...

I had a feeling you might pick HP... maybe it's that you've already visited the wizarding world TWICE!!!

I picked Anna and the French Kiss, but I admit Hogwarts would be a pretty cool place to live. I mean, quidditch? I'd pick it just to see one game!

LOL I so have to agree with you on Harry Potter. I not only love the books, but nearly trampled my own children to get through the gates of the Wizarding World in Universal last summer LOL! Now, that's magic!

Yes, but if Prof. Snape could help me with my potions....well I am there! LOL
