Road Trip Wednesday

Today on the YA Higway they're challenging us!  We are supposed to come up with our own question and then hop around and answer everyone's.  Sweet!  I'm good at questions.

So, in honor of my wonderful WIP which you all helped me title, Happily Never After, I'm going to give you a fairy tale question.

If you could live inside your favorite fairy tale, which would you choose?

What will it be?
Cinderella?
Sleeping Beauty?
The Little Mermaid?

Oh man, I don't know! Whatever my answer is, though, I'll choose to live in the DIsney-fied version of the fairy tale, not the original version because ... yeah. Who wants to live in a something like Grimm fairy tale?

I guess I'll say The Little Mermaid. That would be fun.

The little mermaid, because they I don't have to sleep for years and years. Plus I like water.

Ooh, I agree with Meredith! Gotta go with the Disney-fied version...and in that case, RAPUNZEL! :D

Disney fairytale I vote for Mulan. (because it isn't a fairytale)

Real fairytale I vote for 12 dancing princesses.

Favorite story of Lore: The Knight of the Kitchen from the King Author Myths

Favorite myth: Pysche and Cupid.

Ooh, Sooz, Tangled = epic amazingness! (And holy cow, but Flinn is just how I imagined Jace!)

I'd go for Little Mermaid too, only I'd avoid the sea witch and fall in love with some merman...much safer.

Wow, lots of Little Mermaid love so far!

Nobody wants a frog prince? Or evil stepsisters? ;)

It'd be fun to hang out in Belle's world for a little while, but only if Bear can come with me. :) I seem to remember an awesome ibrary at the Beast's castle...

I agree--must be the Disney version. In which case I'd choose Beauty and the Beast. I love everything about that, including the talking dishes. I would insist they sing "Be Our Guest" before every meal.

I am jumping on board with Abby and Tracey -- the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast... I'd be totally fine with that provincial life ;)

YES Erinn! Mulan! Mulan! Mulan! Or that show, with Little Bear, and Duck, and Cat. I'm not sure what it's called, but I love the animals. :)

It's not really a fairy tale, but it is a Disney Movie. So I'm picking "The Jungle Book". Living in the sticks with the wild animals seems like more fun to me than living in the sea with the fishes.

Pan's Labyrinth!

just kidding. that would be terrifying.

The Little Mermaid would be cool, but in reality I've been diving lots of times and I wouldn't want to be down there longer than an hour or so. Unless everything's in cartoon in this fantasy?

Most fairytales end badly. Extremely badly, so I too would go with the Disnified version. And though it's not really a fairy tale, I'd love to be in Alice in Wonderland. For actual fairy tale, Beauty and the Beast or Aladdin.

Love! Little Mermaid for certain! I actually have a character (she's three) in my current WIP who is obsessed with Little Mermaid.

Great question!

Cinderella, but only if it was like the "Ever After" version. Either that or Mulan.

I think one of the Slavic fairytales, such as the tale of the 'Bridegroom Sun' would be really fun. The landscapes and the characters are very rich and surprising in those stories. But of the more well-known fairytales, probably the twelve dancing princesses.

Mulan is the girl power choice, but I think I'd choose Cinderella. I so wanted my first dance dress to look exactly like her ball gown (fail), BUT, the best is the after-story. Can't you just imagine the comeuppance the stepmom and sisters have to go through? As Cinderella I would be magnanimous and kind as I put them to work cleaning my house for a decade or so!

I can't swim worth a lick, but I have to say The Little Mermaid. It's my FAVE! :)

Does The Princess Bride count? Because that's probably my pick.

Can I be in Sleeping Beauty but switch the roles of prince and princess? I'd like to be the princess who slays dragons and fights through walls of thorns to rescue the handsome, sleeping prince. Yep. Sounds good to me. :)

My favorite fairy tale is BEAUTY AND THE BEAST because Belle has the best dress HANDS DOWN and her adventure is the most fun :D singing teapots = awesome!

I'm not a fairy tale kinda girl, so I'm going to say The Jetsons. And don't try to tell me it's not a fairy tale - how else would a flying car fit in a briefcase??
