What would your ideal writing desk look like? Right down to the perfect pen or laptop.
This is fun...I love to dream of what kind of writing space I'd have if money weren't an object. Here it goes.
The pens? Uniball Signo 207 in every color they come in. *contented sigh*
I would have notepads of recycled paper for brainstorming, handmade paper note cards for sending thank you's, and a nice set of highlighters.
Also, post-its. Preferably in bright colors like pink and green.
As far as the computer goes...while I love my little netbook for on-the-go writing adventures, I think I'd like a MacBook Pro. The big one. It would be for desktop use, but I don't like desktop computers, so I'd want the 17" screen.
The desk...well, that's easy. I love this one with all the drawers and cubby holes. I heart cubby holes for random office supplies. Look at it -- isn't it beautiful? lol There'd be plenty of room on top of the little shelf for a few reference books, a picture, and a lamp. Then I'd have room for my MacBook and notepads on the main desk. Everything else could be hidden away. Love it.
And what desk is complete without a chair? I love these ergonomic chairs. They are really comfortable for being stationed in front of a computer for long periods of time.
Well, that's my ideal desk, so what's yours?

I want the Herman Miller chair too! My back is pining for it right now...
Oh man I forgot to add tons of post-it notes and pads of paper to my desk.. and the personalized note cards on hand? GENIUS.
Right now I am "in between" favorite pens. I think I might pick some of those up and try them out. (I am a sucker for pens that come in purple ;) )
here's my desk! http://bit.ly/apcunV
Sarah, they are the smoothest most wonderful pens I have ever used. (And I'm a very picky pen user)
I'll have to check out those pens. I'm a picky pen user too and get OCD with them. (If I start a project with one type of pen, I have to use it throughout the project.)
We have some of those chairs at my day job. They look bouncy.
I'd have lots of post its in my ideal workspace.
Herman Miller rocks-- they are super-environmental, an added bonus.
ooh the pens *wants*
I also like that chair. I just had an incident where I accidentally broke off the back of my (very inexpensive) chair, so I am especially interested in all these chairs!
Pretty desk. That's a lot like what much of my house already looks like. Probably why I want to go the totally opposite in my writing space, lol.
I forgot colored pens! I LOVE colored pens!!!
ahh... the chair and the laptop are all I wish for. But since I have a decent laptop, I guess my only wish is the chair. Oh for a ultracomforable, ergonomic chair... :D
P.S.
Package is in the mail--whoot! Wish I'd seen this post before sending. I could've tossed in some postits. Happy reading~
Hey I think you should try Uniball Jetstreams. They're amazing; the only downside is that they don't last too long, but seriously, you'd love them! The best 0.7 ones are in Hong Kong, but Staples carries them too.
Anyways here's my ideal desk(s): http://writerschasm.blogspot.com/2010/07/rtw-my-ideal-writing-desk.html
I love that desk! We have a super ancient old writing desk, a little smaller than that... I've been begging for it for years.
And Uniball is the BEST.
I am seriously in love with that desk. It's like something you'd see on Antique Roadshow that's worth, like, a bazillion dollars. And can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE drawers? Drawers and pockets. There's no quicker way to my heart.
Nice pens. I love those pens.
I love Uniball! And I'd like to trade my PC for a Mac.
